The Ingalls Family of De Smet

Brand new 50 page
album telling of the life of the Charles Ingalls family and their friends in
De Smet, SD. Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the "Little House" books grew up in
De Smet and told of her life here in her books. In 1879, the Ingalls family made
their final overland trip as a family to De Smet, South Dakota. This was the end
of the line, but Charles and his family became one of the first families of De
Smet and created a very rich history at the same time.
The book has a handsome gold
embossed cover and contains a wealth of information on the Ingalls family
and the townspeople mentioned in the LH books. Includes a large
collection of rarely seen photographs.

Exploring the Homesites of Laura Ingalls Wilder

the many facets of the homesites and life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. It
is hard to accurately describe all of the information and photos in
this booklet with just a few lines. It contains over 100 photographs
taken on 30 trips to the various homesites. Here is just a sample of

Visiting The Homesites of Laura Ingalls Wilder (DVD)

Visit Pepin, Wisconsin, where Laura Ingalls was born on Feb. 7, 1867. Follow the Ingalls Family as they move to Wayside, Kansas - Walnut Grove, Minnesota - Burr Oak, Iowa - and De Smet, SD. In De Smet, Laura Ingalls married Almanzo Wilder.
They spend time there, as well as on the Wilder Farm in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
When their daughter, Rose, was seven years old they moved to Mansfield, MO - where the Little House Books were written - at Rocky Ridge Farm and the Rock House.
This video shows the restored Wilder home and barns in Burke, NY. Farmer Boy told about Almanzo's boyhood experiences here. The Herbert Hoover Library, in West Branch, Iowa is featured in the video, since Laura's first book, Pioneer Girl - and much of the correspondence between Laura and her daughter Rose is kept there.

The Ingalls stay in Burr Oak is the missing link in the Little House books.
After a brief history of the Ingalls fleeing from
grasshoppers in Walnut Grove, MN, it includes the life of the Ingalls family at
the Masters Hotel and afterward. Has a chapter of Rose Wilder Lane's visit in
1932 and the renovation of the Masters Hotel. Includes a nice selection of
rarely seen photographs. As usual, Mr. Anderson has put a lot of information in

The Walnut Grove Story

Laura Ingalls Wilder - Homesite Bracelet

Brand new silvertone bracelet. This bracelet is very high quality.
The bracelet
itself is link style and approximately 7 inches long and has a very substantial
feel. The charms are very detailed, down to the windows, doors and chimney. You
can almost see the fossils in the chimney at Rocky Ridge Farm . The charms vary
slightly in size but are approximately 1 inch long and 1/2 inch tall. The home
sites included are:
- Cabin at Pepin, WI, the birthplace of Laura in the Big
Woods.
- Cabin on the Osage Diminished Reserve near Independence,
KS. Laura wrote of hearing the Indian war whoop and drums pounding during the
night.
- "The Wonderful House" at Walnut Grove, MN that Pa built
after they lived in the dugout on Plum Creek.
- The Masters Hotel at Burr Oak, IA where baby Grace was
born
- The Surveyor's House on the shore of Silver Lake in De
Smet, SD. The Ingalls' stayed in this house their first winter in De
Smet.
- Rocky Ridge Farm house in Mansfield, MO. This was the
final home for Laura and Almanzo. They lived most of their adult lives here and
raised daughter Rose.
- Farmhouse in Malone, NY, boyhood home of Laura's Manly,
Almazno Wilder.
